Business Analysis

Business Analysts are agents of change.
I often describe a good Business Analyst as a 'Purple Person'. If you think of your business focussed employee as red, and your technical employee as blue, blend or bridge the two and you have your Purple Person.

A good Business Analyst will be a key player in:
  • Identifying/Articulating the need for change - understanding the root cause of the problem that needs to be solved
  • Identifying what change is required - what are the possible or preferred outcomes?
  • Defining how to achieve the change - by understanding current vs future state we can identify where the gaps are and how to close them
  • Facilitating the change - skilled in working with all areas of your organisation, from the business focus to technical, to understand what is required and ensure handover (and adoption) of a solution (whether process or technology)
I'm an experienced Senior Business Analyst, with a career spanning over 20 years in Telecoms, Healthcare, E-Commerce, Emerging Technologies and Local Government. The trophy below is for my part in bringing Disney Store UK into a modern e-commerce platform and building the platform for multiple European sites. There have been others since, but this one is the coolest.
