I started my career in the UK working for a global Telecoms company back in the day of Least Cost Routing. I’m not sure whether Business Analysis found me, or I found Business Analysis, but it was something that I quickly discovered I loved despite having lived my life to that point having never heard of it.
I spent 5 years working mostly for telcos in London, some start-ups and some household names, with a year working for The Walt Disney Company before I moved over to NZ with my kiwi born, winemaking, husband.
I now have 14 years NZ experience under my belt, with 13 of those based in Hawke's Bay. 9 years working (mostly remotely) for NZ based specialist healthcare software now known as Omda, a year locally for the super innovative Fingermark, and recently 3 and a half years working for local government. Almost all of my roles have involved working with overseas clients and colleagues, with some form of international travel.
Outside of work, I’m bonus mum to Carys (19), mum to Otis (7) and 2 furry guys, Crosby and Tai. Wife to Hayden (did I say winemaker? I chose well!) and joint owner of a small wine business Organised Chaos, so we’re keeping the chaos in the family and using it as an element in this venture, that explains the email address. There’s organised chaos in winemaking and organised chaos in the work that I do! My job is to bring the calm, and the organised, to guide through the chaos.
I’m a huge empath. I lost my parents at a young age and had to fend for myself from the age of 15, that has been hard, but it has built resilience, empathy and ambition which I bring to the work that I do. I’ve been my own safety net for a long time, and now driven by providing that for my family.
The image on the bottom right shows a recent 360 review summary that I hope will demonstrate some of the qualities I can bring to your organisation. For the record, I was / am slightly peeved that I didn’t exceed the ‘high performance’ on two of the criteria but was told that I am well above average on both!).
If you would like me to add value to a piece of work for you, or your organisation, please use the contact page and I will get back to you, or you can contact me at tarryn.penny@organisethechaos.net.
I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together!
